!!Define Union Contracts
An important part of set up for the Labor Relations application is to define and review union information within the Maintain Units ([IDUN]) screen. This screen provides details about union agreements and contracts, identifies unions and contacts. In addition, this screen identifies the pay element that contains the pay components for union dues and initiation fees. Finally, you will be able to associate grievance rules to specified units.
----
!!!Complaints and Grievances
Two important components of the Labor Relations application are complaints and grievances.
A [Complaint|COMPLAINT] is an informal, less serious dispute between an individual and an employer that may eventually, but not necessarily, lead to a grievance.
A [Grievance|GRIEVANCE] is a formal dispute between a union, set of employees or an individual and a company that is based on clauses in a labor agreement
!!Define Dispute Types
The Define Dispute Types [ILDT] screen allows you to identify the specific types of disputes, both general and those dispute types unique to your company. For example, a dispute type might be a violation of the labor agreement, harassment, violation of the promotion process or unequal pay.
!!Define Grievance Rules
Grievance Rules could be outlined by a union’s contract or agreement and may state the steps required for that particular union grievance process.
The Define Grievance Rules [ILGR] form allows you to define these rules within the application structure. In addition to identifying the steps for the rule, you may define the time windows for responses associated with each step.
----
!!!Disciplinary Processes
The Labor Relations application also allows you to record, control and administer the Disciplinary Process.
You will be able to define and record disciplinary issues. In addition, you can track reviews and all correspondences related to the disciplinary action.
The disciplinary process will respect all security levels (by entity, unit, department, authorization area, etc.) established in the security setup in the Administration application
!!Define Issue Types
The [ILIT] screen allows you to establish the issue types for your entity, for example, intoxication or excessive absenteeism. In addition to general types such as tardiness, you may define types unique to their entity.
