WORK DIVISIONS#
A work division is a subdivision of an operational entity and is the highest level for Time Scheduling.A work division equates to a physical location, such as a plant, factory, mill, campus, store, theatre, or casino and is overseen by a manager, director or chief of operations.
A work division is generally subdivided into a number of work areas where work is performed.
The definition data for the Define Work Divisions screen is stored in the P2K_TS_WORK_DIVISIONS table.
- Work Division
- This field displays a user-defined code that uniquely identifies the work division. Work Division codes must be unique within an entity. Work_Division_Code is a 10-character alphanumeric mandatory field you must manually enter.
- Standing
- This field is used to indicate whether the record is `active', `frozen' or `obsolete'. `Active' will default. Standing is an optional field which you may fill from the fixed lexicon X_STANDING.
- Entity
- The entity to which the work division belongs to is indicated in this field. Entity_Code from P2K_CM_ENTITIES is a 10-character alphanumeric mandatory field you must either manually enter or select a value from the LOV(F9) provided.

- Description
- This field provides a short description of the work division. Description is a 50-character alphanumeric optional field you may manually enter.
- Work Division Status
- Status is used to indicate whether a division is active at a SPECIFIC point in time, which is different from the standing.
- Active (will default)

- Location
- This field displays the physical location of the work division, such as a building, a wing, a floor, an office unit. Location from P2K_CM_LOCATIONS is a 16-character alphanumeric optional field you may either manually enter or select a value from the LOV(F9) provided.
- Manager| This field holds the person code of the employee who manages this division. e.g. Mary Beth Green Person_Code from P2K_HR_IDENTITIES is a 16-character alphanumeric optional field you may either manually enter or select a value from the LOV(F9) provided.
