The new approval bar in Self Service looks like:
The approval bar is divided into sections which represent each step in the process. The description of each step is displayed in bold to identify the step. Below the description is 1 approval record status used to describe that status of that step.
Each step has two methods of making an approval. The first is the quick approve, noted as a check mark on the step which the approver (user) has rights to approve. If the user is not an approver with rights to approve the quick approve is not available. When the quick approve is clicked an approval is made and the process is progressed to the next step or final approval as required. An option to make comments is not available.
The approval step description is emphasized in bold text while the approval step status is displayed in normal text.
The second is a menu available with a right mouse click over the waiting step. The first menu item is a text item showing the approver name. The options following that are approve, decline and send back with comments.
The new information dialog may be viewed by clicking on the icon to the far right which looks like an āiā.
The popup menu will include the approver name for the step as the first item and approval actions to approve, decline or send back with comments.
Selecting an approval action with comments brings up the approval dialog, which allows comments to be added for any approval action made for the step.
After submitting the dialog for the approval action with comments, the approved step will turn gray and will have a new popup menu generated for its new status. Right-clicking now on the approved step will show the approved status of the step and a sub-menu containing the comments made for the approval.
The popup menu will be displayed even if there are no approval actions available for the approval step. In such a case, the approver name or approval step status and a submenu of approval action comments will be displayed.
When an approval entity (eg: Personnel Actions, Applications, Postings, Time Sheets) is in a status before approval or after approval, the approval bar will show a context message to show pertinent information about that entity.
The context message is definable by table alias in IMMS. These messages can be translated if necessary. The following displays which context messages are used for the approvals.
