DEFINE REVIEW TYPES#
Review types are used by Wiki to group or classify reviews for reporting purposes. As well, the review types are used by the Generate Upcoming Reviews (
USUR) program to specify which type of review to create, and on what schedule. Review Types are created and maintained through the Define Review Types (ISRT) screen.
The review form includes settings for when to create the review and which approval level will be defaulted to for reviews of this type. Approval level is used to control the flow of review approvals and updates into the personnel action forms.
Review types also include the categories that will be judged for each type of review. For example, a disciplinary review would include different categories from those included in a performance review. These categories are user-defined and may be used by multiple review types. Categories are defined here in the review type form and are rated with points or lexicon values (such as “meets requirements” or “exceeds requirements”) when the employee receives a review of that type.
Review Types data is maintained on the P2K_SA_REVIEW_TYPES, P2K_SA_REVIEW_SUBJECTS and P2K_CM_POSITION_DETAILS tables.
- Review Type
- This field displays the user-defined name for the type of review being created.
- Frequency
- This is the amount of time between reviews of this type, for example, one year for an annual review. Enter the amount of time as a numerical value. This field is not required if there is no set time between reviews, as would be the case with a disciplinary review.
- Period Basis
- This field defines the time period (hour, day, week, year) in which the review period value is expressed.
- Approval Level
- This field displays the position level within the organization whose approval is necessary to complete this review. For example, if a review will cause a salary change, it may be necessary to have a higher level of approval than if the review will just change an employee’s status from probationary to fully active status.
- Description
- A description of the review type is provided in this field.
- Category
- This field holds the user-created category code that will be rated when reviews of this type are created for employees. Only those categories defined for each review type will appear in the ISRV form when that review type is selected.
- Description
- You may enter a description of the category chosen, or may use the description to prompt users for the correct rating of each category.
- Weighting
- Max Points
- This field shows the maximum points a candidate may obtain for an assessment.
