USWS - SCALE BASE DATE#

This date field will determine which effective date Scale Wage Rate the wage rate change will use to calculate the new wage rate. Some clients will use a wage rate other than the most recent to apply a wage rate change to and this date field will allow for that option.

Blank Field
This will apply the wage rate change to the last effective date record and add the result to the this wage rate for the new wage rate.
Date Entered
The wage rate change will be applied to the wage rate that is associated with the entered date. The result will be added to the current wage rate.

Example

This is a record of wage rate changes for a single step in ISWS

Start Date End Date Scale Rate Basis
01-Jan-0001 25-Jun-2008 120.00 WK
26-Jun-2008 03-Mar-2010 122.40 WK
04-Mar-2010 31-Dec-3999 128.52 WK

A 3% wage increase is planned for 01-Jan-2013

Scale Base Date field blank
The calculation will be 128.52 x 3% = 3.86 + 128.52 = 132.38

The calculation will be 120.00 x 3% = 3.60 + 128.52 = 132.12

The new effective date wage rate will be either one of the examples below depending on the use of the scale base date field:

01-Jan-2013 31-Dec-3999 132.38 WK
01-Jan-2013 31-Dec-3999 132.12 WK
