System Preference#
If defined, the value should be set to “Y” (no quotes). Once set to <<Y>>, the change reason is "read only" on the defined screens and can only be changed in the pop up.
In addition, that pop up is set to blank and if the attached instructions are followed then the change reason is made mandatory.
Net effect – users are forced to select a change reason and cannot simply leave the value as is.
