US IDGV IPUTR Rate Overrides

IDGV IPUTR Rate Overrides#

This page describes how to set up IDGV by Government Registration to override the IPUTR US Tax Rates for US Symmetry Tax Engine

IPUTR Set Up#

IPUTR – ER_SUTA or ER_SUTA_SC entry#

User must run UPUTR process to load in all US Tax Rates entries for IPUTR screen

On IPUTR, user may set up information by Tax Identifier that is applicable for the entire system e.g. ‘Override Tax Rate’, ‘Do not calculate’

Company may have different State Government Registrations that provide different tax rates

Some State Government Registrations do not require to calculate certain IPUTR Tax Identifiers

IDGV screen provides ability for users to define by Entity and various Registration Types to specify various government rates

IDGV Set Up#

IDGV – Government Registration Set Up#

On IDGV screen with the proper ‘Reg Type’ and ‘Govt Rate Type’, user can enter the IPUTR Tax Identifier on the ‘Description’ field, then specify the applicable tax rate in the Amount field

For Example: In California, a company has many subsidiaries with different State EIN. Some subsidiaries do not require to pay California Employment Training Tax and some subsidiaries have different rates. User should enter IDGV entry as follow:

Reg Type US SUI Regist 1 - the last digit must match the last digit of Pay Header’s Group IDGR State Regist Type
State California
Govt Rate Type US SUI 1 ER Rate - from lexicon X_GOVT_RATE_TYPE
Description 06-000-0000-ER_SUTA_SC-004 - from IPUTR Tax Identifier
Amount enter applicable rate or 0.00 here - enter rate or 0.00 to ‘Do not calc’

IDGV Govt Rate Type#

IDGV Govt Rate Type supported for IPUTR#

IDGV – ER_SUTA entry#

If Govt Rate Type ‘025004 - US SUI ER Rate’ is specified, the Description field may specify the IPUTR Tax Identifier that contains ‘ER_SUTA’ such as ‘06-000-0000-ER_SUTA-000’.

If the Description field does not specify an IPUTR Tax Identifier, UPCALC treats this as a set up for previous tax engine. If the Amount is specified as 0.00, this 0.00 will be treated as a non-existent rate and therefore the default SUTA ER rate will be used

If the user wants to specify SUTA ER rate as 0.00 in the Amount field, enter IDGV Description field with the valid IPUTR Tax Identifier so that UPCALC program can use this IDGV entry to override the IPUTR entry with the same Tax Identifier

IDGV – ER_SUTA or ER_SUTA_SC entry#

The following Govt Rate Types are programmed in UPCALC to provide ability to use the IDGV tax rates to override IPUTR ER_SUTA_SC Tax Identifiers.

IDGV Reg Type - ‘US SUI Regist 1’ to ‘US SUI Regist 9’
IDGV Govt Rate Type - from lexicon X_GOVT_RATE_TYPE:
025004 US SUI ER Rate - use this lexicon for ER_SUTA
025014 US SUI 1 ER Rate - use this lexicon for ER_SUTA_SC
025024 US SUI 2 ER Rate - use this lexicon for ER_SUTA_SC
025034 US SUI 3 ER Rate - use this lexicon for ER_SUTA_SC
Up to 3 ER_SUTA_SC entries can be entered for each State Registration.
IDGV Description - user can enter IPUTR Tax Identifiers that match ER_SUTA or ER_SUTA_SC

For Example:

Govt Rate Type Description
025004 US SUI ER Rate 01-000-0000-ER_SUTA-000 Alabama State Unemployment Tax
