OT CONSECUTIVE - Consecutive Day Overtime #

Time Rule Overview#

This time rule will grant an employee a consecutive time code, defined in the Time Code field, on any consecutive day worked, defined in the Value. Multiple levels of overtime per day will be handled by the OT Daily time rule which targets the consecutive time code through the time code set. The sequence of the OT Consecutive time rule should be less than the sequence for OT Daily.

Requirements / Features#

  • There are two variations of this rule depending on what is set up in the Band column:
    • If the value is <= 12, the employee will qualify for the rule if they worked at least the number of hours defined in the value in each of the previous consecutive days including the current day.
      • If the business need, for example, is to define OT Consecutive for 6 day and 7 day the premium version is not suitable, the rule will work only with time codes. The time code set for the 7th day should contain the time code applied by OT consecutive for the 6th day.
    • If the value is > 12, the employee will qualify for this rule if they worked at least the number of total hours defined in the value in the previous consecutive days. This set up would be used if employees were to qualify for OT Consecutive if they worked for a specified number of hours throughout the week such as 40 hours. This variation takes into consideration time worked in the entire time frame whereas in the previous variation the employee must work a specified number of hours each day to qualify. This rule will apply to the consecutive time code in current day, the difference between the value defined in the band and the work time in the time frame.
      • If the number of hours in the current day are less then the hours that should apply the rule it will apply the time code only for the hours available in the current day. (e.g. For band 20, day one is 6 hours, day two is 16 hours and day three is 4 hours. The rule it will try to apply 6 hours (26-20). However, the current day has only 4 hours so only 4 hours it will be applied.)
  • If different levels of OT in a day are not required, or if there are no multiple consecutive days (6, 7) the premium version of the time rule should be used, otherwise the time code version should be used.

  • The Value field will no longer be used to hold the day of the week, instead the day of the week has been turned into a column labeled DAY. The OT CONSECUTIVE time rule has been updated to handle this new feature.
  • This rule has been modified to look at the new time code sets when specified. This time code set needs to include Regular and the Consecutive OT Time Codes. If no set is defined it will target all work rule time codes that have the CONSECUTIVE OT toggle checked.
  • Time Rule Type Code: OT CONSECUTIVE
