RAW_DRIVERS_LICENSE is an optional 16-character alphanumeric field used to hold the encrypted license number of the individual, providing they have a driver’s license. When a column is encrypted, that actual column will be blanked out to NULL, in this example, the DRIVERS_LICENSE field, and the encrypted value is stored in the RAW type field on the same record. This ensures the data cannot be read in clear text.
