In addition, counties are used to filter school district pick-lists by eliminating those districts associated solely with another county. This section explains the Define Counties (IDCN) screen and its associated fields. This information is for U.S. installations only. If the organization does not withhold county or school district taxes, the county information is not required. High Line provides a starter script to load example counties for each state and additional examples for the states of OH and PA. The nine-character [GEO code|GEO_CODE] (Geographic Code) is used as the key to determine tax rates for a particular geographical area. GEO codes are used in the county and tax jurisdiction definitions. The GEO codes are provided by [Vertex] Inc. and are used by their PayrollTax™ Calculator to calculate the appropriate taxes. Please refer to the Master GEO Code list provided by Vertex Inc. County data is stored in the [P2K_CM_COUNTIES] table. ;[County | COUNTY_NAME]:This field displays the name of the county being defined. ;[County Code | COUNTY_CODE]:County Code is the nine-character GEO code (Geographic Code) used as the key to determine tax rates for a particular geographical area. The GEO code is defined in the format of “12-345-6789”, where the positions numbered ‘12’ represent the state, the positions numbered ‘345’ represent the county and the “6789” positions represent the city.
