DEFINE BUSINESS CALENDAR#

Calendars are schedules, which define periods of time that are needed to plan and manage human resource activities such as monthly benefits administration, as well as financial information such as general ledger periods.

This section explains the Define Business Calendars (IDCL) screen and its associated fields.

Annual, fiscal, quarterly, monthly and weekly calendars are used for a variety of purposes, and they may begin and end at any point during a calendar year.

Typical examples of calendars include the FLSA calendar, General Ledger calendar (Fiscal Calendar) and Benefit Remittance calendar.

The Calendar details contain the individual time periods that make up a calendar or schedule.

New calendars are not created each year, new periods within the calendars are added.

Define Business Calendar data is stored in the P2K_CM_CALENDARS and P2K_CM_CALENDAR_DETAILS tables.

Calendar Period
‘Period’ is the year and period that uniquely identifies the calendar period. The calendars are defined in the format of CCYY-PP, where CC is the century, YY is the year and PP is the period. A monthly calendar for the calendar year Jan-Dec 2003 would have calendar periods 2003-01 through 2003-12.
