Adding Different Colors to Event Messages#
Color can be added to Events that show in the calendar box in the Self Service on the WEECE form.
Defining the Styles#
There are two Fixed lexicons:
- X_CSS_COLOR - This lexicon holds the colors available for leave types
- X_CSS_ICON - This lexicon holds the styles available for icons
There is a Partially Fixed lexicon:
- X_CSS_EVENT_MSG_CODE - This lexicon holds the correspondence between the message code and the color and is maintained by the customer using IMLSEMC
- For the WEECE, this color coding has been implemented for the following message codes:
- Employee Birth Date (as defined on IEID)
- All Employee Contact’s Birthdays (as defined on IECT)
- Holiday dates (as defined Holiday Calendar – IDHC)
- Election Open Date (as defined on IBEV)
- Election Close Date (as defined on IBEV)
- For the WEECE, this color coding has been implemented for the following message codes:
These lexicons are maintained by the customer and are the links between the HL colors in the fixed lexicons to the event types.
For example - The X_CSS_COLOR lexicons defines HL colors that can be associated with Events.
- Assigning Colors to Event Messages
The Event Messages on the WEECE screen allows for a user-friendly option to select a Color to associate with an event.
In this example, the Employee's birthday will show on the Calendar in the color GREEN and the birthdays for the employee's contacts will show on the calendar in the color ORANGE.
- IMLSEMC - Maintain CSS Colors by Event Message Code
- Attaching the Event Message Color to the Calendar
Once the colors have been assigned to the Event Message on IMLSEMC, the Calendars must be setup to show these colors.
This is done on the IMFDH form for the WEECE form as follows:
- IMFDH - Maintain Form Definition
