System auditing writes out log records to the Change Logs and Change Log Details tables.
Unless this is turned on reports like REPM or the Show Change History dialog will have nothing to show. However, before enabling auditing/logging you should perform some analysis on the system to see exactly what you want to track changes for otherwise the Change Logs will become excessively large and difficult to deal with.
This preference is set by site (IMST). By default auditing/logging is turned off, and requires a value of Y or Yes to turn it on. N or No will disable.
This preference is picked up at instance start up and changing it will require the instance to be restarted.
