Courses (defined in [ICRS]-Define Courses) may be established to provide specific training that will help individuals improve their levels of competence. Courses are not restricted to conventional classroom training courses; they may be self-paced learning, instructor led, on the job training, seminars, etc. Courses may be internally or externally prepared and conducted. \\
\\
Each course may have a sponsor, stated objectives, an intended audience, prerequisites, required competence levels and fee policy. The competence levels achieved upon successful completion may also be stated. Courses are uniquely identified by a manually entered code.\\
\\
They may have a restricted period of time during which they are valid. Courses may be published in detail or summary at any time using flexible run time parameters. They may also be interfaced from and to other systems.\\
\\
Course catalogs can be produced for particular types of training. These may include a calendar showing when and where each of the classes is offered.\\
\\
Courses must be approved before being offered. Multi-level approvals may be implemented to the extent required by an organization, or not implemented at all.\\
\\
Courses may be conducted through training classes that are offered at different times in different places. A schedule of these classes is maintained in the system. A link is provided to the class details.\\
\\
Instructor information is also maintained at the class level. Instructor demographics are held
under business contact information.\\
\\
Classes must be approved before being offered. Multi-level approvals may be implemented to the extent required by an organization, or not implemented at all.\\
\\
Course fees are established using fee schedules at both the course and class level. Multiple fee schedules (price lists) are supported, depending on location, time frames, instructor, etc.\\
\\
Training facilities such as classrooms, equipment, materials, hotels, etc. may be specified at both the course and class level. This gives the training manager the ability to line up the appropriate resources for each class.\\
\\
Training resources must be approved before being acquired. Multi-level approvals may be implemented to the extent required by an organization, or not implemented at all.\\
\\
Individuals enroll in training classes that suit their own schedules. These enrollment records provide trainers with class registration lists. Reminders and notifications of upcoming courses may be sent automatically.\\
\\
Class registrations may be published in detail or summary at any time using flexible run time parameters.
