COLUMN_ENCRYPTED is a toggle that identifies that this column has had the encryption turned on using the IMCE. When a column is encrypted, that actual column will be blanked out to NULL and the encrypted value is stored in the RAW type field on the same record. This ensures the data cannot be read in clear text.
