Forms containing requests that require approval have a special display block called the Approval Bar. This bar is only visible if one or more approvals are required. Once the request is fully approved, declined or cancelled, the bar disappears.
The Approval Bar is divided into sections, each representing an approval step in a multi-level approval process. If there is only one step in the approval process, there will be only one section.
All users see the Approval Bar until the necessary approvals are given but only authorized approvers can take an approval action.
Approvers that have the power to approve all steps “up to” a specified step may see multiple red arrows if there are several steps waiting for approval. They would normally approve the highest step. The others would be marked as completed as part of the process.
The Admin and Self Service User Interfaces use slightly different approval bars. For information on the Admin approval bar read Admin Approval Bar and for information on the Self Service approval bar read Self Service Approval Bar.
Screen captures are meant to be indicative of the concept being presented and may not reflect the current screen design.
