ADP_TAX_TYPE is used to indicate the ADP tax code and indicates whether the amount is considered a Deduction (or Contribution), a subject amount or a taxable amount.
X_ADP_TAX_TYPE is a user-defined lexicon with the following values:

| DED | Deduction | |
| PRE | Pre-Taxable | Note: Only one pay component for each ADP_TAX_CODE only one PRE pay component can be defined |
| TBL | Taxable | Note: Only one pay component for each ADP_TAX_CODE only one TBL pay component can be defined |
| GRS | Gross | This tax type is not normally used |
