## If you are using the [Vertex|VERTEX] server, ensure that the process is running and connected to the data base. Changing the password will result in an encrypted password file being created/updated. If the server is not running, then the password file will need to be created manually.
## If you are using the [Symmetry|SYMMETRY] server, it does not connect to the Oracle database during normal operation and does not store the P2K password anywhere. STE does not need to be running, nor does it need to be upgraded/reinstalled after you change this password
