A BFILE is a data type used to store a locator (link) to an external binary file, a file stored outside of the the database. The directory structure that this is stored in, is defined by the site preference [ATTACHMENTS FLDR|ATTACHMENTS FLDR(System_Preference)] Defined on IMST.

[CLEANUP]
Under this directory, subdirectories will be created, one for each table structure that has a BFILE object assosciated to it. For example, a check signature file, linked to a bank account on [IPBA] screen, on the [P2K_PR_PAYROLL_BANK_ACCOUNTS] table (alias PBA) will have a folder under the ATTACHMENTS FLDR called PBA, and it is here that the external file will be stored.
For this reason, the ATTACHMENTS FLDR should be a secured directory that is not accessible to normal users, and should be backed up with the database.
